Description
Sodium Alginate Powder is a natural polysaccharide extracted from brown algae, such as kelp. It is a mixed polysaccharide composed of mannuronic (M) and guluronic (G) acids. The product is supplied as a white powder or yellow particles, with a mesh size of 80-200 mesh. Sodium alginate is a hydrophilic colloid that readily dissolves in water to form a viscous solution. This property makes it an effective thickener and stabilizer. An important technological property is its ability to form a gel upon contact with calcium ions, creating a heat-irreversible gel. High-G-type sodium alginate forms a hard but brittle gel, which is important to consider when developing formulations. The availability of Organic, FDA, ISO, Kosher, Halal certifications confirms its suitability for a wide range of applications. Delivery time is 1-3 working days, ensuring prompt procurement.
Applications
Used in the food industry as a thickener, stabilizer, and gelling agent in dairy products, desserts, sauces, and also in the textile and pharmaceutical industries.
