Description
Psyllium Husk Seed Extract is the ground powder of Plantago ovata husks. When dissolved in water, it forms a viscous liquid, making it an effective thickening agent in food products. The product exhibits good hygroscopic properties, absorbing moisture and helping to keep foods soft. The fiber content of the husk is as high as 80%, with a soluble to insoluble fiber ratio of approximately 3:1. This allows it to increase satiety without providing calories. The extract is presented as an off-white powder with a particle size of 80-100 mesh. For purchasers, its functional properties as a fiber source and thickener are important, along with compliance with ISO9001, Halal, Kosher, and GMP certifications.
Applications
Used in the production of food products, beverages, functional foods, and as a thickening and texturizing agent.
