Description
Organic Inulin is a soluble dietary fiber utilized by plants for energy storage. Industrially, it is most commonly extracted from chicory root. This product is a water-soluble carbohydrate that is largely resistant to acid hydrolysis and digestion, reaching the colon intact. There, it undergoes fermentation by beneficial microorganisms, exhibiting characteristics of oligofructose and dietary fiber. It is supplied as a white powder. Important for purchasers due to its stability, good water solubility, and confirmed standardization, which ensures predictability in manufacturing processes. It can also be used for the preparation of oligofructose and fructose syrups.
Applications
Used in the food industry for enriching products with dietary fiber, in the production of beverages, dairy products, baked goods, and dietary supplements.
