Description
Matcha Tea Powder is produced from shade-grown Camellia sinensis leaves. The plants are cultivated in the shade for three to four weeks before harvest, which promotes an increase in active ingredients and chlorophyll, giving the leaves a darker green hue. After harvesting, the leaves are steamed to deactivate enzymes, then dried, stems and veins are removed, and subsequently ground into a fine powder. The product is a green powder with an 80 Mesh specification, soluble in water. Standardization includes control over appearance (green powder), particle size, and solubility. For purchasers, organic origin, confirmed by Organic, ISO, Kosher, Halal certifications, along with color and flavor stability, a 24-month shelf life, and stock availability, are important.
Applications
Used in the food industry for beverages, confectionery, desserts, ice cream, and in the production of dietary supplements.
