Description
Acetic acid (chemical formula CH3COOH) is an organic compound widely distributed in nature, for example, as esters in vegetable and fruit oils. Pure anhydrous acetic acid, known as glacial acetic acid, is a colorless, hygroscopic liquid with a freezing point of 16.6°C, at which it crystallizes. Aqueous solutions of acetic acid are weakly acidic and corrosive. In the food industry, it is used as an acidity regulator and preservative. For purchasers, the product's concentration, purity, compliance with food standards, and storage conditions are important, as it is hygroscopic and corrosive. Available in various concentrations and forms, including powdered derivatives for ease of application.
Applications
Used in the food industry as an acidity regulator, preservative, and also in the chemical industry for the synthesis of various compounds.
