Description
Silk Amino Acid Powder (SAAs), also known as Sericin, is a natural water-soluble glycoprotein extracted from raw silk. It is produced by hydrolyzing silk proteins into smaller peptide chains, typically 18-19 amino acids in length. Due to its high levels of serine, which possesses excellent moisture preservation characteristics, silk amino acids are widely used as an additive in skin and hair care products. This low molecular weight ingredient creates a protective barrier and imparts a silky feel to lotions, soaps, and other cosmetic products. It enhances skin and hair hydration, contributing to their smoothness and elasticity. For purchasers, it is important to consider the product's purity and its solubility in the aqueous phase to ensure the stability of the final formulation.
Applications
Used in the production of shampoos, conditioners, hair treatments, body washes, body lotions, cleansers, toners, facial moisturizers, mascara, lipstick, and color cosmetics.
