Description

Calcium Oxide (CaO) is an inorganic compound, commonly known as quicklime. It appears as a white powder, which can be light yellow or gray if impurities are present. It is an alkaline oxide, sensitive to moisture, readily absorbing carbon dioxide and moisture from the air. When reacting with water, it forms calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) with the release of a significant amount of heat, making it corrosive. The molecular formula is CaO, with a molecular weight of 56.077. The product is standardized by its main substance content (minimum 98%) and particle size (80 mesh), ensuring its compliance with industrial requirements. For purchasers, its high purity, hygroscopicity, and reactivity are important, especially during storage and use.

Applications

Widely used in construction, metallurgy, and the chemical industry. In the food industry, it is applied as an acidity regulator and desiccant.
